Explorts 2.5 are the latest update to the time-tested shorts that we first started with in 2020. The core DNA of that endurance and expedition oriented short are still intact in terms of the core short pattern and fit. You’ll also still find the quick-release bib clips on this newest version which are a key detail for racers participating in multi day competitive events. Explorts 2.5 use a single piece lower short construction that is designed for maximum comfort over the longest of rides. The upper bib area has a more minimal construction to maximize overall breathability and cooling on hotter rides.

What’s changed on 2.5 since our earlier versions of the short? On 2.5 we’ve moved to a new fabric, which we’ve found to be more durable and more supportive. We’ve also moved to a semless leg cuff with silicone-injected micro grippers. These shorts stay in place right where you want them, and fewer seams means that chafing is eliminated and comort is improved.

Rodeo Explorts bibshorts began development in 2018, and have been in a constant state of evolution and improvement ever since. Not content to simply ride other shorts in the same way that we aren’t content to simply ride other bikes, we developed first and foremost with rider comfort in mind. We’ve succeeded in creating shorts that are great for a quick afternoon ride, and we’ve proven these same shorts in races and rides that span days and weeks of non-stop use. Tour Divide, Atlas Mountain Race, Unbound 200 and XL, Texas Showdown (400), Traka 560, Transcontinental. Explorts have been ridden in these events and many more with great success and rider feedback.

Shorts are one of the primary interface points between each rider and their bike, and we couldn’t be more motivated to make Explorts 2.5 one of the finest and most functional options on the market.

We feel that our sizing is largely consistent with other cycling clothing brand sizing, but please do be careful to consult the size chart below before sizing.
