GRX 820 is Shimano’s latest 1×12 gravel groupset, and when Shimano drops a new gravel groupset, you know it’s been obsessed over and refined to perfection over years of development. Combine that drivetrain with Rodeo 3.0X carbon wheels, Ritchey components, Praxis cranks, and a handmade Selle Repente Quasar saddle, and you have a build that goes the distance for road, gravel, and touring.

Shimano Di2 shifting is legendary for it’s repeatable performance and reliability. Available in a 2x chainring configuration, it offers the close gear shifts and wide gearing range that many riders appreciate, with the consistency that riders have come to expect from Shimano. As a higher spec drivetrain, we’ve also used high end Ritchey WCS components and our ultra lightweight 3.0X wheels for this build configuration.

SRAM came out with a genius groupset when they released the Eagle and XPLR compatible Apex shifters and drivetrain. For those not wanting electronic shifting, or not up for the cost of electronic, the Apex Mechanical drivetrain allows for all of the gear range and braking of the AXS groupsets, but with the simplicity and price break of mechanical. We worked hard on this build spec to reduce cost wherever possible while maintaining the highest standard of function, just the same as we would with our more expensive builds. This build can also be done with XPLR gear ratios by request.

Instead of our Rodeo carbon wheels we opted for DT Swill aluminum wheels, which are still up for the challenge and have the reputation of a legendary wheel brand. This is one of our lowest cost Traildonkey build specs, and can still be customized by any customer per their preferences if required. This build can also be done with XPLR (10-44) gear ratios by request.

SRAM Force AXS 2x drivetrain is a go-to drivetrain for riders wanting wireless electronic shifting with double front chainrings. On tap are 24 speeds of close ratio, high precision shifting, all in a lightweight package. We add to this the Ritchey WCS components, 24 spoke CX-Ray Rodeo 3.0X carbon wheels, and a suite of other high end components to create a fast, efficient Traildonkey build.

The SRAM Force Mullet drivetrain might just be the most popular go-to drivetrain of gravel riders, racers, and bikepackers everywhere. This system uses drop bar shifting and brakes up front, with the ultra wide range Eagle gearing in the rear. Business in the front, party in the back. We add to this the Ritchey WCS components, durable 28 spoke Rodeo 3.0X carbon wheels, and a suite of other high end components to create an extremely versatile, multi use and multi surface Traildonkey build.

The SRAM Force XPLR drivetrain takes what people love about the Force Mullet drivetrain, and tunes it a bit more for road or gravel riding and racing with closer ratio 1x shifting in the rear. The result is a lighter, more efficient drivetrain. We add to this the Ritchey WCS components, 24 spoke CX-Ray Rodeo 3.0X carbon wheels, and a suite of other high end components to create something well suited for the gravel racers out there.

SRAM Red XPLR 1×13 speed drivetrain is the most advanced, cutting edge wireless groupset on the market, and has the best ergonomics and braking feel that SRAM has yet offered. The result is a lighter, more efficient drivetrain. We add to this the Ritchey WCS components, 24 spoke CX-Ray Rodeo 3.0X carbon wheels, and a suite of other high end components to create something well suited for the most discerning gravel racers out there.

The SRAM Rival Mullet drivetrain has all of the performance of the Force build spec, but at a better balance for price and performance. Traildonkey 4.2 can be run in a native singlespeed configuration thanks to its sliding dropout system, and this TRP Hylex Singlespeed build is the build spec that we ourselves have ridden to victory in the singlespeed categories at all of the biggest gravel races in the United States. Hylex are some of the most beautiful levers in the business, with their drilled design and fantastic ergonomics. Braking performance is second to none. This build is inherently lighter weight due to the lack of cassette and derailleur, and is helped by the lightweight Rodeo 3.0X wheels, Repente Quasar 2.0 saddle, and Ritchey components.
