Spork 3.0 paint options/ custom paint
Hi,
I am interested in getting a Spork 3.0 to replace the fork on my Standert Erdgeschoss 2026 (white rabbit colorway). Iโm pretty sure the Spork is compatible but I was wondering if there was a custom paint option as I would like to match it to the bike colorway as best as possible.
Thanks and all the best,
TravisTravis,
Yes the Erdgeschoss is compatible with our tapered steer tube forks.
You would have two options for paint to match. Since your frame is white, the match with white Cerakote would be easy (in Storm Trooper White). If you wanted a gloss paint / clearcoat coating instead of our in-house Cerakote, we could send out to have that done, but the cost would be about 50% higher than our in-house coating. If you’d like to learn more about the differences between paint and Cerakote, please review this page:

Flaanimal 6.0 steel base colours
Good Morning,
I write you to know what’s the base color on the new flaanimal 6.0 steel and if it’s possible to have it without decals.
Kind regards
Filippo6.0 is currently available in two base colors with no decals.
- Black
- Sand
On our configuration page each option can be selected. Decals are optional while configuring and can also be removed at any time that you own the bike.

Spork 4.0 1 1/8 straight + qr
Iโm wondering if the spork 4.0 will have a straight option with QR like the spork 3.3. Want to make sure I donโt miss out on getting one thatโd be compatible with my bike
There will be no straight steer tube Spork 4.0. The 3.3 will remain our only straight steer tube fork option. Thankfully it’s massively capable.

Spork QR retention?
I was wondering if for the straight steerer QR version of the spork, I saw on the product page you mentioned you need a longer skewer. I was wondering if thereโs any other stuff that is special with the QR? Like is there a lawyer lip type thing? Or is there any sort of extra security for the skewer?
Also, what does the watching qr thing that you mentioned do?The QR Spork is supplied with a specific QR axle / lever and “dropout” hardware when configured as a QR fork at the time of purchase. Our QR system is compatibile with QR hubs, but is not a true “dropout”, because the QR axle has to be completely removed from the fork in order to pull the hub and wheel out of the fork.
You can see in the image below that the parts in red that the hub nubs engage with behave like a traditional dropout, but the fork endcaps themselves don’t have a dropout feature. Because of this there is no need for extra “lawyer tabs” or extra safety features for wheel retention. Simply thread in the QR axle, tighten the cam snugly, and go riding.

Touch-up paint?
Hi there,
My brother let me borrow his Flaanimal to ride Unbound (fun story, it was featured on your Instagram!) this year. With all the mud it’s gotten a few little scratches on the steel portion of the bike. I’m wondering if there’s any touch-up paint that perhaps either you have to sell, or would recommend? I’m thinking both type of paint and color. The scratched bits are black and the bike is not custom finished. And while I’ve got ya, the Rodeo Labs lettering is beginning to flake off, is it possible to order some new decals? Thanks so much!
SeanSean,
Congrats on riding Unbound. This year looked like an absolute doozy.
The main thing you want to do with scratches is to clean them and cover them before corrosion sets in. You’ll want to clean the area very with with something like Isopropyl alcohol. If you see any rust has formed, you would want to clean the area even more with a red scotchbrite pad to get the rust off. After that, a Rust-O-leum paint and primer in black would cover the area well. Consider masking just the area that you want to cover with painters tape so that the overspray doesn’t hit the rest of the frame and the repair looks tidy.

used TD 4 w/scratch and loose compartment cover
Good morning!
Odd question for you. I found a listing for a used TD4 with some scratches and a loose compartment cover. Would cover replacement require it to be sent in to see whether the issue is on the cover or the frame itself, and given the sizes and locations of the scratches, would you caution against purchasing the frame used? Thanks in advance for your help.

https://buycycle.com/en-us/product/trail-donkey68f4ee0df3d05-45657Kyle,
This looks like a good condition Donkey. The description mistakenly lists it as a TD3 but you’re right, it’s a 4. You don’t need an entirely new door cover, you would only need a new lower hook. The one on the bike is most likely ABS plastic, and we make them from metal now. That’s a $25 fix. If you buy the bike, just shoot us an email at bikes@rodeo-labs.com and we can connect you with that part (which isn’t on our online store).
The scratch / gouge on the non drive side downtube is considerable. We can’t really evaluate it from a photo though. Even if it is structurally damaged, that can be repaired by a carbon technician. We would guess that’s a $300-$500 repair if it does in fact need repair.
The overall parts spec on the bike is nice!
Good luck with the shopping!

Additional fixing point on Flaanimal Ti
I currently use a bottle cage mounted on the top tube near the seat tube junction for long-distance riding. When ordering a titanium frame, is it feasible to have threaded bottle-cage mounts integrated in that position? Are there any structural considerations I should be aware of when adding bosses to the top tube close to the seat cluster? Thanks
We definitely apprecate how useful those bosses can be near the seat tube! We didn’t engineer those into our Ti frame, or test the frame with those additional mounting points, so we cannot endorse adding them to the frame or support any issues that arise from modified frames.
That said, we can give you a bit of technical information so that you understand our frame. The butting profile of the top tube is such that both ends have the same butting thickness at each end. On the 6 Ti the tube is merged with the 3d printed junction peice near the seat tube. If we were to design the frame with this new mount, we wouldn’t put it closer than 45mm from the seat tube outer wall / seat cluster.

Pin spanner?
I don’t know which spork. See photo. https://imgur.com/a/GhXyLg9 End cap keeps coming loose. Blue loctite?
Butโฆ 1. Dont have a pin spanner this small, 2. Not gonna be putting this much torque with a pin spanner.
Advice?Blue Loctite is exactly the answer here. You don’t want to put an excessive amount on. A few drops should do it.
We sell an exact pin spanner tool for tightening this to torque here:
If you buy the tool and don’t need it, you can return it for a refund after using it.

Spork 4.0 Steer Tube
Can you recommend a stem/handlebar combination for fully integrated cable routing. Maybe something similar to my Cervelo Caledonia-5?
With Spork 4 you have a lot of different options depending on the bike that you’re installing it on. Spork 4 has a D shaped steer tube that allows you to use traditional stems in fully integrated applications without proprietary headsets, and it is also compatible with fully integrated bar / stem / headset systems.
What is critical is that you use a stem / headset that were designed together if you’re using the system approach.
For example, when using Enve EnRoute, use an Enve stem and Enve spacers, combined with either Wolf Tooth or Chris King EnRoute headsets.
If using FSA fully integrated systems, use their ACR integrated line, such as the NS ACR stems and No 55 ACR headset, for example.
The same applies to Ritchey integrated systems, etc.
Some brands such as Black Inc are possible to use, but trickier because their headset upper are designed around Factor frames. Cervelo stems would be tough to use because their headset uppers are designed around Cervelo frames.
When we do builds with parts / stems from other bike brands we often 3d print a headset upper cover to match the proprietary shape of bike-brand-specific components.
If you have more details about the combo you’d like to run, we could advise further.
