Spork QR retention?

I was wondering if for the straight steerer QR version of the spork, I saw on the product page you mentioned you need a longer skewer. I was wondering if there’s any other stuff that is special with the QR? Like is there a lawyer lip type thing? Or is there any sort of extra security for the skewer?

Also, what does the watching qr thing that you mentioned do?

The QR Spork is supplied with a specific QR axle / lever and “dropout” hardware when configured as a QR fork at the time of purchase. Our QR system is compatibile with QR hubs, but is not a true “dropout”, because the QR axle has to be completely removed from the fork in order to pull the hub and wheel out of the fork.

You can see in the image below that the parts in red that the hub nubs engage with behave like a traditional dropout, but the fork endcaps themselves don’t have a dropout feature. Because of this there is no need for extra “lawyer tabs” or extra safety features for wheel retention. Simply thread in the QR axle, tighten the cam snugly, and go riding.
