TD40 // 61cm // “Pretty In Pink” // Ekar 1×13 / White Industries

Update: Rickshaw Bagworks was inspired by the palette and aesthetic of this build, and created a full suite of custom one-off matching pattern bags just for this bike. Now included with the bike are a barrel bar bag, seat pack, and hip / shoulder pack. Thanks so much, Rickshaw! The bags bring the bike up to a whole other level.

We were sitting on a random set of pink White Industries hubs that our wheel builder, Pancho, had laced up to silver Velocity Blunt SS rims and we got to thinking about what color frame they would look good on. Would a tan bike look good with pink and silver?? We suspected it may, so we grabbed one of the Slickrock colored Traildonkeys and had Brad go at it with Cerakote to create a variation of the new TD4.2 stock paint scheme. A custom mix of pinks was concocted and sprayed on the inside of the Spork 3.0 and chainstays to add peekaboo pops of pink (try saying that 5 times fast) that pair nicely with the coloring of the hubs.

Luckily, we had a fair amount of silver build components around the shop to pair up with the silver in the frame design and wheels to bring the whole look together. You’ll notice a silver seat collar and headset, Ritchey cockpit, Wolf Tooth chainring, IRD Lobo crankset, Promax seatpost, Velo Orange bottle cages, and more, right on down to the bolts and the trees on the bar tape. All the bling really helps move the eye around this spectacle of a bike. We’ll even throw in a pair of our pink Rodeo water bottles to complete the look!

A Campagnolo Ekar cassette, derailleur, and shifters will ensure you have the right gear for the job. The Vittoria Mezcal III XCR Tan 29×2.1″ tires wrapping this hand-built wheelset will help you grip it and rip it on the gravel less traveled. You can rely on the Ekar hydraulic brakes and 160mm rotors to bring you to a stop if things get a bit TOO spicy. Also, you can bet there’ll be no shortage of conversations about this looker when you hit the trails.

A 61cm frameset can be well fit to riders from 6’2″ to 6’4″.
