Any good saddle should be comfortable and durable, but not everyone needs an expensive, lightweight race saddle built from processed hydrocarbons.

Repente designed the Nova as a highly durable, value-minded saddle made with green DNA. It features a unique, glue-free TPU construction utilizing recycled materials, completely omitting harmful adhesives and solvents from the production process.

The Nova is a wider, shorter-nosed saddle, making it incredibly supportive both on and off-road. Instead of a fully flat profile, it utilizes a “semi-flat” ergonomics setup and a deep central relief channel to alleviate perineal pressure during long days in the gravel trenches. Built with robust, dependable rails, it offers premium Italian manufacturing and exceptional durability without the premium price tag.

The Nova is a budget-friend like option and a massive step forward in conscious manufacturing. Repente has found a way around the harsh chemical adhesives and solvents traditionally used in saddle building, choosing instead to fuse the components together into a single, cohesive unit. Every detail is meticulously constructed in Italy, yielding a clean aesthetic and an incredible quality-to-price ratio for riders.

Saddle Details

The saddle shape favors a modern, shorter-nosed 142 mm “semi-flat” profile. A generous central cutout runs into a wide relief channel, mapped specifically to keep the blood flowing and pressure off your perineum during long, uninterrupted efforts in the drops.

Instead of relying on a mushy, thick slab of foam to mask a poor shape, the Nova utilizes Repente’s “Close Fit” ergonomics. The rear support surface is contour-mapped to match your pelvic anatomy, making it immediately supportive. To keep you pedaling smoothly, their Ergo Shape lateral design tapers cleanly away from your inner thighs, eliminating the friction and chafing that can ruin a long day in the trenches.

The shell and padding are a true engineering breakthrough. Both layers are made entirely from Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) and bonded together using a automated, glue-free thermal process. Because the saddle body is a single-material TPU structure, it is 100% recyclable at the end of its life cycle—just pop the rails out, and the rest can be completely repurposed.

The rail is built for pure, unadulterated durability. No fragile carbon to baby here—just robust, dependable metal designed to absorb high-frequency road chatter and survive the occasional gravel low-side without breaking the bank.
