Paint
Hello RODEO LABS,
I see the Flaanimal 5.0 is still available for purchase. The old website had an image of cerakote paint options but I no longer see that handy job aid for paint options.
Thanks.
DerekDerek,
The decal / paint options are available via the pulldowns on the 5.0 configuration page:
https://www.rodeo-labs.com/shop/framesets/flaanimal5

Single color layout looks like this, and you are able to select any Cerakote H-Series color

Availability of spork 1.x 12mm adapter?
Are there any plans to restock the 12mm adapter for the spork 1.x?
https://rodeo-labs.com/product/rodeo-spork-axle-conversion-kit/
Thank you!We don’t currently have plans to manufacture more of that adapter. There do appear to be other options on the market now if you perform a search for 15mm to 12mm adapter.

Flaanimal with 100mm Suspension Fork
I’m trying to put together a drop bar XC and gravel bike that will also function as a road bike when needed. Using a Rockhopper as a template, I believe that I have discovered a way to do this using a combination of GRX, KAPIC, ALDHU, and XT components that includes GRX 2x (31/48t) front chainrings. I’m now looking for a frame. The Flaanimal seems great! Will a Rockshox Reba with 100mm travel radically change the geometry of the Flaanimal? Do you recommend against it? Thanks.
Answer
Hi Adam,
The geometry for a Flaanimal is not designed around a 100mm suspension fork, so for sure you would be pushing up the front of the bike and slackening the head tube a fair bit. A few people have done this and report having quite a lot of fun on it, but it’s defintiely not the core use of the frame as-designed. I would actually recommend sizing the frame down one size if doing a suspension fork such as this, as this would offset the increased stack height of the suspension fork, but would still slacken the head tube, which would actually bring it more in line with MTB geo.
This would be best considered with the help of something like Bike Cad to really do the work understanding how to select the right stem height and length as well, so that you can find that optimal riding position in the context of the new geometry.
I hope that helps a bit!

Shipping to Germany
Hi
i want to order 4 forks.
How long is the estimated time for shipping to Eermanythanks.
lukasAnswer
Hello,
In EU you can first try ordering through Rodeo-europe.com for localized shipping / VAT / prices. If they do not have the forks that you need, we can ship from here if you order from us, and it would take about 5 days to arrive. VAT would be added by local governments when the shipment lands in Germany.

Want check brake compatibility before buying spork 3
I have Hydraulic Tektro with 160 rotor, see picture link attached,
https://drive.proton.me/urls/HAF01J00B8#0s58vO4wLBZR
Exited to get this fork.
thanks
CJ
Answer
Hi. You will need to separately purchase a 160mm flat mount to post mount adapter in order to use that caliper with the fork, but once you have that part it will work with no problems.

Min-Max Chainstay Length Flaanimal 6.0 TI
What is the minimum and maximum chain stay length for the Flaanimal 6.0 TI?
What is an estimated max tire width at the minimum chain stay position?
Thanks,
Ben
Ben,
The range is 435mm to 465mm
At the full forward position you can fit a 700×2.1. At about mid position you can fit a 2.25. At full back you can fit a 2.4.

Suspension fork compatibility
Is the flaanimal 5.0 frame compatible with a RockShox Rudy 30mm fork with 45mm offset, or would this be a bad combination?
Answer
Yes theyโre definitely compatible with each other.

Build Question
Is there an option to order a complete bike but exclude the wheels as Iโve recently bought the Hunt 40s, assuming theyโd fit the Trail Donkey 4.2?
Answer
Lance,
We are happy to do a build sans-wheels. Taking our 3.0 wheels off any given build removes about $1200 from the cost. If you would like to pursue that option or request an exact quote, just shoot us a note at bikes@rodeo-labs.com, or call or text at 303-477-4136.
thanks!

SRAM transmission Mullet
Howdy! I bought an apex mullet Flaanimal 5 in 2021 and I wanted to know if I chose to upgrade to a similar build using the udh transmission build, how would I go about it? What brifters and drivetrain would I need? SRAM has so many I do not know where to start.
Answer
Tara. All you need to swap on for UDH support is this kit:

Trail Donkey 4.0 max tire size?
I’m in search of a bike that I can use for racing gravel events and want to use 2.2 mtb tires on 700C rims.ย What is max tire size that can be used on this frameset in a standard 700c wheelset?
Thanks!
Answer
Hi Eric,
We didn’t specifically design the frame around 2.2″ tires, but, as it turns out, quite a few owners have mounted them successfully. It is definitely at the max of clearance. We’ve mounted for instance the Schwalbe Rick 700×2.2 on our 25.5 internal rim with great success. Sliders need to go full back for full tire clearance with the frame.
Different tires have different casing sizes even with the same label, so beware of that. Some will fit well, some could be larger or have larger of knobs, which would have danger of rubbing.
Mud will always diminish tire clearnace.
A rim like the 30mm internal Zipp 303 SW will make any given tire inflate large than the label suggests, so for instance it might turn a 2.0 or 2.1 into a 2.2.
Thanks!
