Every colorful Flaanimal 5 in existence is painted to order here in Denver. This beautiful 58cm in the Miami colorway is no exception. Sometimes when custom painting bikes, wires get crossed in our brains, and something funny happens. In this case, one of our painters added a second Flaanimal 5.0 logo on the top tube where normally there isn’t one at all. To some this is a dreadful mistake, to us it’s an opportunity to build a “two for one” Flaanimal 5.0 and offer it at a special price. yes, that’s right, you get two Flaanimal 5.0 logos on this bike, for less than one would typically cost.

Once it was agreed to turn this frame into a special offer Dealtime bike, we handed it to Chef Coco to spec and build per his immaculate taste. We’ve done some very wild and unconventional Dealtime builds over the years, which makes it remarkable that on this build, Coco went for a greatest-hits build instead.

Once your eyes pause from roving across the beautiful three color Miami paint layout, they might first settle on the adventure-proven GRX 1×11 mechanical drivetrain. If there is one thing Shimano gets right, it’s durability and function, and GRX has been a mainstay of the gravel riding and racing scene since the day that it was first announced, and it still delivers on that performance to this day.

Next on the build, Rodeo 2.0 carbon wheels, with 28 butted spokes each. These are hand-built in Denver, and the very same carbon hoops just completed the 2700 mile Tour Divide ultra race under two of our factory riders. These wheels are built to last.

The build rounds out with a Ritchey and Easton cockpit, Repente Quasar 2.0 hand-made ultralight saddle, Panaracer Gravel King tires, a Praxis Zayante carbon crankset, and a beautiful Absolute Black chainring.

As-is, this Flaanimal is ready to go for traditional gravel riding and racing, and if you wanted to take it further into more rugged bikepacking or trail riding, a simple tire and front chainring change would put you well on that path.

This 58cm bike is most suited for riders in the 6′-0″ to 6’2″ range, but riders just outside those margins could be fitted to the bike with modifications to stem / saddle spec.
