Lamb Transport Dept Version 4 // Wool Jersey
$135.00
For the 4th year running, it’s time to celebrate the yearly tradition of the lamb transport donkeys, famous to the mountains of Italy. These trusty steeds transport young lambs from the high mountain pastures to the lower plains because the young lambs are not yet old enough to make the journey on their own power. First brought to our attention in 2020, we couldn’t help but have a good laugh at yet one more thing that donkeys are awesome for, so we made the first Lamb Transport wool jersey, complete with three baby lambs peeking out of the rear jersey pockets. In the years that followed came our legendary Lamboflauge jersey, and our Lambstooth jerseys, each with their own humor.
For 2024, we’re going back to the roots of the idea with this 60% merino / synthetic blend long sleeve jersey, using the same fabric from previous editions, but with the printing on the reverse side for a more uniform color rendition. The midweight fabric is great for wearing on its on on chilly mornings or cooler days, and of course works incredibly well as an insulation layer when heading out into inclement conditions and needing extra loft in the kit.
This year’s graphic print features one small lamb peeking out of the rear in homage to the original, and completes the design with a fall-inspired color palette abstracted from winter wheat and sky. The Traildonkey emblem sits on the shoulder, and the RDO LAB Lamb Transport Department adorn the chest and back.
For sizing, see the chart below. For sizing reference, our intern in these photos is 6’1″, 185lbs, and is wearing a Medium jersey for a more snug cycling fit. In our summer short sleeve jerseys he typically wears a Large, but this year the jersey feels a bit more trim, so he sized down. Good rule of thumb: Your standard jersey size will fit generously, and if you size down you’ll get a trim fit.
We did not speculate wildly on sales of this jersey, and we only made very limited quantities this year. So, if your size sells out, we will allow backorders for one more production run until November 15th, which would ship 4-6 weeks after the pre-order closes. We can’t promise holiday delivery for backorders, but there is a chance that it could happen. Summary: If it shows as in-stock it will ship right away, if it shows backorder, it will ship mid to late December.
