The original post helped me decide on my purchase of Ortlieb’s front pannier bags with the Tubus Duo front S-style rack.  Just wanted to add that on the Spork 2.0 with the original 2 eyelet setup rigs up perfectly w/o needing the modified attachment (nice and level, ample clearance from fork and disk brake assembly).
