This build uses the very popular GRX 800 1x groupset which has been the sweet spot this year for performance, weight, and value. We spec Praxis cranks on almost all of our builds by default because they offer incredible function, aesthetics, and light weight combined with value that always seems to beat typical groupset cranksets. In this case the carbon Zayante crankset was used. For wheels our handbuilt Rodeo 2.0 carbon wheelset keeps the rotational weight low and durability very high.
The Easton EC70 carbon cockpit is also our go-to on our mid and high end builds. The carbon construction saves weight and adds compliance and comfort to the overall bike.
The Cerakote coating that we offer on our Flaanimal framesets is applied here in Denver, Colorado at Flux Customs. Cerakote is a ceramic polymer coating that is about a third of the weight of paint and offers class leading durability and abrasion resistance for thin film coatings.
Our integrated carbon seat tube and head tube sleeves pop nicely on these builds. Our unique CNC machined seat stay yoke design helps us achieve class leading tire clearance for a gravel bike while maintaining road bike q-factor (crankset width). Flaanimal 5.0’s unique aesthetic is unmistakable in any bike lineup.
As with all of our bikes, the only thing left to do with this steed is to go out and get it dirty. Happy New Bike Day, Michael!
