When it comes to fresh uses of color, and functional outdoor equipment design, we’re huge fans of Topo Designs. Topo designs is a Colorado based company who has a unique, differentiated style. When you see one of their pieces out in the wild, it’s often instantly recognizable as Topo, and that’s not such an easy thing to do in the current outdoor marketplace.

For this Ready To Roll build, our designer / painter Brad took a 56cm Flaanimal 5.0, and dressed it in a Topo-inspired livery that he drew on from two bike bags in the Topo lineup. This palette in particular has soft off-white, blues, pinks, purples, and pops of yellow as accents. Adding his own flair to the project, Brad chose to fade select colors on the inner fork, downtube, and the finely detailed topographical lines on the carbon seat tube. This is one of those designs that looks great from afar, but rewards you when you explore the details.

The build isn’t only a looker though, Chef Coco dressed this one in the incredibly functional and reliable Sram Apex wide range mullet 1-12 drivetrain. Also specced: 650bx2.35″ Vittoria Mezcal tires, known for their legendary performance due to uncountable traverses of Tour Divide. These are mounted on carbon Rodeo 2.0 carbon rims and hubs.

A 56cm frameset can be well fit to riders spanning 5’9″ to 6’0″.
