Podcast: the Rodeo Rider Files – Conor Dancy

This is the first installment of a podcast series that we are calling the Rodeo Rider Files where we will sit down with a few members of the Rodeo Labs extended family. First up is Conor Dancy.

Conor lives in Northern Virginia, amongst the historic gravel roads of Loudoun County, and is a pilot for a . He is a real matter-of-fact presence and someone who loves cycling, the little things, and Big Dumb Rides—all things we can get behind.

I caught up with Conor a while ago, April 2023 to be precise, as I brainstormed what exactly I wanted this rider-forward series to look like. I didn’t really have any firm ideas, but I had just been an Instagram friend with Conor for a while and really liked the way he engaged with his bike. He too was a fan of trying new stuff and particularly using it on road rides. He too was a fan of riding really really far. He too was a fan of Virginia bike riding. So we caught up in the beautiful park outside of the Virginia Museum of Fine Art and recorded a brief conversation about all of that, including how being a pilot allows Conor to lean even further into the #rideexplorecreate ethos, even if he doesn’t claim to be creative (his words, not mine).

I revisited that conversation a couple of weeks ago and realized it is the kind of thing I’d love to hear if I was out in this big wide world looking for fellow Rodeo riders. So we decided to run it here and kick off series where we will talk with the Rodeo fam far and wide to share your story to the rest of our little world. If we have learned anything from our various outings, experiments, and events its that life is better when you all are involved and that includes here in the podcasting side of the company.

We hope you enjoy this conversation and if you have someone you would like to nominate for our next chat, let us know! We are all ears.
