It was an excellent weekend of camping, trail riding, unicorn hunting, and s’more roasting in Buffalo Creek, Colorado.
Of course Traildonkey was there too, piling on turn after turn of golden dirt. We get a lot of strange looks and questions about the dropper post. 95% of the time you don’t need a dropper post at all on this type of bike. Road riding, commuting, CX racing, gravel grinding, none of those need a dropper. But trail riding? Trail riding is easily twice as fun if you can climb with a properly extended seat post then slam it down to the top tube on the descents. A lower seat post makes the bike carve so much better in the turns. It also inspires confidence because your center of gravity is so much lower. You don’t feel like you are going to get pitched over the bars. Giddyup!
